I am doing my engineering in electronics and instrumentation i am now in my second year and i would like to make up a career in the software field, so i am planning out to do the GNIIT course parallel to the engineering , so i would like to know whether this would be a good move and what are the career opportunities for me after doing GNIIT and about the placement of NIIT.

People with good skills in computing with engineering background are in great demand. The training you have mentioned leaves your options open. Before taking admission for any software course check whether the courses they are offering in tune with market demand & some important issues like faculty strength, certification, project etc.
