I don't have any work experience.What should I do?

Q: I completed BE in mech. in 2004 with 66%. I could not find any job for over a year. So I did Microsoft and Cisco certifications in 2007. But until now i'am not able to find a job. Currently Im doing my MBA thro' corres. in International Business. I'm confused and I don't have any work experience.What should I do?

A: You can apply for jobs and work while doing your MBA in correspondence. Experience in related fields is very important. There are many jobs in IT and networking fields. You need to search job on right platform. Take help of your immediate and extended networks as it is the best way to know about job openings and recommendation. Register  with job sites, yahoo groups for jobs, mail your resume to job consultants. You can also e-mail your resume to our e-mail id mentioned on this blog.

Age relaxation for divorce women

Q: I am an Engineer,i m divorce women,after divorce i complete my study and now want to get a good govt job,so please tell me is there any age relaxation order for divoced women in banking services,PSUs,state govt units....

Sir in many advertisments only the option is for OBC,ST/Sc candiadtes for age relaxation.....so can i seek the age relxation in these services .

A: Yes you can seek age relaxation in Govt./Semi-Govt/PSUs jobs. Here is a summary of age relaxation available in UPSC, banking and railway exams. You can verify in employment notices, websites of Govt. organisations or you can seek the relevant information from concerned authorities under RTI act.

UPSC / SSC

Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried(Unreserved/General) - 35 years
Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (OBC) Upto 38 years of age
Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ST) Upto 40 years of age

Railway Recruitment Board

Widows/divorced/ judicially separated women
Upto the age of 35 years for UR, 38 years for OBC, 40 years for SC/ST.
Widows/divorced or judicially separated women

Public Sector Banks - Age Limit

Widows, divorced women & women judicially separated from their husbands, who have not remarried, by 9 years subject to a maximum age limit of 35 years for General / Unreserved category candidates. Age relaxations stipulated for other reserved category candidates would also be available on cumulative basis.

Good news is Government is considering various measures for increasing share of women in public employment, including relaxing age and experience limit under Public Employment (Reservation for Women) Bill, 2005.

Completed B.E. in computer science in 2006

Q: i have done B.E. in computer science in 2006.but due to some problems i was not able to get a job.i have knowledge of java. this has created a big problem for me,now i m not able to understand what to do.for the past 1 year i m preparing for bank po exam.kindly suggest any good option.

A: You have great future in IT jobs. There are many jobs in small and medium companies and they are looking for talents in Java, asp.net, php and several other domains. Kindly understand and act on following points to get a job as soon as possible.

1. Learn new technology and update your skill sets. You will need 4-6 month for learning new technologies. Appear industry relevant certification.

2. Prepare your new resume with small projects you have done after your engineering including all technology freelance projects and updated skill sets.

3. Move to nearest metro or state capital as you will find more companies in those places.

4. Contact and network with your old friends, seniors, remote contact and tell them you are looking for job and if they can help or recommend

5. Register your profile with all major job sites, Yahoo Job Groups, Job Boards, Forums and professional social networking sites like Linkedin

6. Appear interview for fresh as well as jobs with 1-2 years experience.

7. Do not limit yourself to jobs in 1-2 domains and explore all areas your liking.
