I want to do my further education with part time

Q: I completed Bsc(I.T) in this year with 71%. My query is what are the best options after Bsc(I.T) and because of some money problem i want to do my further education with part time. So, what are options and what are best university for part time education.

A: You can apply for jobs in IT companies to gain experience and at the same time join part time MCA programme by IGNOU or University near to your home town. These universities conduct classes on weekends or in evening hours. You can also prepare for industry relevant software certification offered by Microsoft, Sun Microsystem or networking certification by Cisco or Juniper Networks to face lift your skill set and professional profile

CAT exam eligibility criteria

Q: hello sir,i have done my BE from VTU in Karnataka (hope it is famous) and my 5th, 6th,7th,8th sem FIRST ATTEMPT %age is 49.33 while after clearing these backlogs my %age is 55...am i eligible to write cat exam?or some of the bank PO exams where eligibility criteria is 55%???

A: Your overall percentage in all the semester will be considered while you apply for any of the competitive exams. 

For CAT the eligibility is 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in your Bachelor's Degree. You are eligible for the CAT test.


For most of the bank PO exams the eligibility condition is Graduation in any discipline with 60% marks. There can be different eligibility criteria for different banks.

Not able to get good job

Q: I have completed my Btech in June 2007, but due to my health problem i have done PGDBA from Symbiosis part time and got completed in july 2009, but not able to get good job is anything left for me or I have ruined my life, plz tell.

Answer: I have seen many case like yours, most of them are successfully placed in different companies in India and abroad. You have taken a good step by doing your PGDBA degree. Now you can vast array of jobs in the market and show your future employer about what you did after your B.Tech degree. 

Keep on trying and the opportunity will knock your door. Keep your resume ready and register your profile in major job portals. On daily basis search job for different keywords and apply. Also join job forums, Yahoo groups to get information on different job openings.



Career option after BCA

Q: Good Morning Sir/Madam, Sir,i am pursuing BCA 3rd year,i want to know career options after BCA,diploma or full time...so plz suggest me..

A: You can go for full time MCA after completion of BCA. If you feel you need to gain experience, then you can apply for jobs; but keep in mind to join MCA program from institutes like IGNOU or Sikkim Manipal University through distance/part-time mode. You can gain entry to better software companies with your skill sets, aptitude and your MCA degree.

Try to gain expertise in a particular domain and do certifications that are valuable from industry point of view. You can start preparing from now onward.
