KPO is outsourcing work, but the requirements are more specific. The job profiles demand specific technical knowledge that must be combined with elements such as imagination, creativity, strategy and global corporate etiquette. A computer engineer with specific domain expertise will be in demand.
This is just the beginning. Research shows the KPO industry is expected to reach US$ 17 billion by 2010. A lot of foreign companies are looking to India for setting up research and development services.
