In India, Biochemistry has slightly more opportunities than Biotechnology. Job prospects are essentially similar for biotechnology and biochemistry as far as industry/company jobs are concerned. But academic positions are more in Biochemistry. But stay away from Bioinformatics at the undergraduate level in India. Colleges are exploiting the current excitement in Bioinformatics and start courses in bioinformatics without any experienced teachers to teach the courses in bioinformatics.
