Q Sir i in my bca final year and have been placed in wipro bpo and ibm daksh. can u suggest me which will be better among the two related to career growth ? Are there any possible ways to migrate within departments of these organizations?

A: Congratulation! Both the BPO companies you have mentioned are very good and leader in ITES sector. You can join the organization which is providing better package in terms of salary, other benefits and training.

I don't have any work experience.What should I do?

Q: I completed BE in mech. in 2004 with 66%. I could not find any job for over a year. So I did Microsoft and Cisco certifications in 2007. But until now i'am not able to find a job. Currently Im doing my MBA thro' corres. in International Business. I'm confused and I don't have any work experience.What should I do?

Age relaxation for divorce women

A: Yes you can seek age relaxation in Govt./Semi-Govt/PSUs jobs. Here is a summary of age relaxation available in UPSC, banking and railway exams. You can verify in employment notices, websites of Govt. organisations or you can seek the relevant information from concerned authorities under RTI act.

Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried(Unreserved/General) - 35 years
Widows/Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (OBC) Upto 38 years of age

Completed B.E. in computer science in 2006

Q: i have done B.E. in computer science in 2006.but due to some problems i was not able to get a job.i have knowledge of java. this has created a big problem for me,now i m not able to understand what to do.for the past 1 year i m preparing for bank po exam.kindly suggest any good option.

A: You have great future in IT jobs. There are many jobs in small and medium companies and they are looking for talents in Java, asp.net, php and several other domains. Kindly understand and act on following points to get a job as soon as possible.

1. Learn new technology and update your skill sets. You will need 4-6 month for learning new technologies. Appear industry relevant certification.

2. Prepare your new resume with small projects you have done after your engineering including all technology freelance projects and updated skill sets.

I want to do my further education with part time

CAT exam eligibility criteria

Q: hello sir,i have done my BE from VTU in Karnataka (hope it is famous) and my 5th, 6th,7th,8th sem FIRST ATTEMPT %age is 49.33 while after clearing these backlogs my %age is 55...am i eligible to write cat exam?or some of the bank PO exams where eligibility criteria is 55%???

A: Your overall percentage in all the semester will be considered while you apply for any of the competitive exams. 

For CAT the eligibility is 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in your Bachelor's Degree. You are eligible for the CAT test.


For most of the bank PO exams the eligibility condition is Graduation in any discipline with 60% marks. There can be different eligibility criteria for different banks.

A: You can go for full time MCA after completion of BCA. If you feel you need to gain experience, then you can apply for jobs; but keep in mind to join MCA program from institutes like IGNOU or Sikkim Manipal University through distance/part-time mode. You can gain entry to better software companies with your skill sets, aptitude and your MCA degree.

Try to gain expertise in a particular domain and do certifications that are valuable from industry point of view. You can start preparing from now onward.
